This is the fiber optic based counter rotating token ring.It has many features. they are

• its length is upto 200km
• the transmission rate is 100mbps
• it is a multimode fiber

The contents of FDDI data frames are divided into nine. They are

• Start delimiter field
• Frame control field
• Destination address field
• Source address field
• Data
• Frame check sequence
• End delimiter
